- Never underestimate the impact of your generosity. Read a grateful letter from a guest of the Cross Streets Community, where several of Mountain Shadows’ members volunteer to prepare and serve meals to folks who might otherwise go hungry. Thanks be to God for the opportunity to tangibly (and tastily!) convey Christ’s love) in the communities around our church.
- Consider donating your excess citrus. Iskashitaa Refugee Network, which is based at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, is currently collecting donations of fresh citrus. If you have an abundance of oranges, grapefruits and other citrus to give, bring bagged fruits to church any Sunday. Dan Engeljohn will deliver them to Iskashitaa. (He can also tell you how to get involved in the food ministry at Cross Streets Community.)

- Read an enlightened message of hope. The message was crafted by Christian leaders in Southern AZ, including our own pastor friends of Mountain Shadows — Rev. Rachel Srubas, Rev. Laura Munroe, Rev. Brad Munroe, and Rev. Jeff Dixon. The letter was read during the 8-17-25 worship service.

- Learn about the Borderlands Young Adult Volunteers (BYAV) program, a Presbyterian Church (USA)-affiliated, ecumenical community of people between ages 19 and 30, spending a year living in intentional Christian community and serving the local community through agency partners. Annually, Mountain Shadows church takes up a special offering (payable to Mountain Shadows, with “BYAV” or “YAV” in the memo line) on Pentecost Sunday. In addition, the Mission Ministry Team of Mountain Shadows provides financial support to the program.
- For updates regarding our Memorial Garden and church members and friends that have passed into every-lasting life, check In Memoriam.
- Our Season of Lent began with a prayerful Ash Wednesday worship service on March 5 at 4:00 PM. The offering received during this service was specific to helping fund the construction of a new columbarium in our church’s Memorial Garden. A percentage of the offering will be used to strengthen the Columbarium Compassion Fund, which offsets ashes internment costs for people in economic need.
