Legacy

A Legacy . . . is what one generation passes on to the next changing lives for years to come.

What will your Legacy be?

Legacy Gifts. . . are planned gifts. Our annual giving to God makes a statement about how important our faith is in our lives. Making a gift to God from our accumulated assets after we are gone makes a spiritual statement about our faith.

Will you consider a planned gift?

Legacy Ministry . . . is Mountain Shadows’ planned gifting program, providing for future ministries and missions.

Legacy Ministry Funds . . . are gifts originating from wills, bequests, estates, trusts, insurance or other planned giving. These can be fully available for distribution, or the principal of the gifts can be held in perpetuity with the earnings available for distribution at the designation of the donor. Donors can desgnate the gift for a specific use or purpose. Separate operational funds are established within Legacy Ministry records to administer endowment and spending funds and gift designations.

The types of legacy gifts that are acceptable include cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, and personal property.

The Legacy Ministry Board is responsible for administering funds entrusted to the church and oversees investment, management, recordkeeping as well as the distribution of those funds. This Board works under the direction of the Session and governed by the Legacy Ministry Operating Plan.

Why Legacy giving: We give to our church all of our life. Now consider a gift that will continue beyond your life. Total stewardship includes the ultimate use of our accumulated assets.

We Believe, in God’s word through Luke: “Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” – Luke 6:38
