Mission Partners

  • Bread for the World — We provide funding to support their programming. In addition, we encourage congregants to read and internalize their hunger prayers published monthly, as well as write letters to elected officials to support hunger programs both domestically and internationally.
  • Bridge Prison Ministry — We provide funding to support their programming. In addition, we collect and deliver business attire for use by clients of the program in their job interviews. In addition, at Christmas time, we collaborate with our Deacon Ministry in supporting “Angel Tree,” a program to purchase and donate gifts to the children of incarcerated parents. Most recently, we began a women’s pen-pal writing program with previously incarcerated women.
  • CafĂ© Justo — We purchase large quantities of fair-trade coffee (ground and whole bean) for sale during Fellowship on the first and third Sundays of each month. Although congregants can purchase their own “Just Coffee” online, the congregants pay a hefty shipping fee for each purchase. Thus, as part of our Green Living initiative, we are able to purchase large quantities shipped as a unit a few times yearly.
  • Casa Alitas Migrant Center. We collect and deliver day-to-day clothing of all sizes for men, women, and children. In addition, we collect warm clothing for those being relocated to colder parts of the country (e.g., coats, hats, gloves, and carves). We also donate funds to support the cost of providing purchased meals at the Center and for rooms at nearby hotels for migrants as they await being relocated elsewhere in the country. When funds are available, members from the Mission Ministry Team schedule a shopping trip to purchase helpful items.
  • Cross Streets Community. We collect and deliver donated new socks and underwear for men on the third Sunday of the month. In addition, on the first Sunday of the month, we provide food prep beginning at 2:00 PM for about two hours. A group of 8 to 10 volunteers carpool to the commercial kitchen facility at Southside Presbyterian Church to assist with preparing food to serve to the homeless the following week on Monday and Friday mornings. Several team members also assist with serving the meals each week.
  • Frontera de Cristo — We provide funding to support their programming.
  • IMPACT of Southern Arizona — We provide support with one team member being a weekly corporate food donation hauler (i.e., picks up a car-full of donated food items and delivers them to the IMPACT food bank).
  • Interfaith Community Services (ICS) — We collect and deliver donated food and silent auctions items to the ICS special campaigns/fundraisers (e.g., Peanut Butter Party; Lotsa Pasta; Empty Bowls). In addition, a team member drives clients to activities (e.g., medical appointments and grocery shopping) multiple times a week.
  • Little Dresses for Africa — A small group of volunteers sew dresses for girls and shorts for boys. A shipment of dozens of items mailed approximately quarterly.
  • Middle Eastern Presbyterian Fellowship — We provide funding to support their programming.
  • Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) — We provide funding to support their programming.
  • Tri-Community Food Bank — We collect and deliver donated food on the first Sunday of the month. In addition, one of our team members works at the food bank one day weekly.
  • Tucson Borderlands Young Adult Volunteers (TBYAV) program — We provide funding to support their programming. In addition, as a non-profit organization, one of our team members serves on the Board of Directors.
