“ Welcoming the Stranger” study Oct 8

Welcoming the Stranger.”  Dr. Rod Hutton, a member of Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church, will teach a three-session class focusing on biblical and theological issues relating to community identity and the place of 'foreigners' and 'strangers' in Israel's and the church's midst. Participants will also explore the question of migration in U.S. history and consider the current conversation regarding border security and immigrant needs.  Rod is Emeritus Professor of Old Testament at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, OH.  The three sessions will be held at MSPC from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, 15 and 22, with an immersive visit planned to the PCUSA border ministry, Frontera de Cristo in Agua Prieta, Mexico, on Tues. and Wed., Oct. 30-31.  Contact the church office at Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church for more information.
