“Third is for Threads”

Donated clothing

On the third Sunday of each month, we will gratefully receive clothing donations. Specifically, we know of a need for clean, gently used clothing and packaged, new undergarments and socks. Our church volunteers take the donated items to three non-profit organizations operating in Pima County — Bridge Prison Ministry, Casa Alitas Migrant Shelter, Cross Streets Community, and IMPACT of Southern AZ Clothing Bank.

Casa Alitas has provided a specific list of clothing and goods that are needed for men, women, and children (and thanks Rich Broeker for the brochures for our narthex table), including the following items —

  • Underwear — new only — all sizes for children, teens, and adults
  • Men/teen boy pants, shorts, and sweatpants — 26-32″; S, M, L waist
  • Women/teen girl bras, including nursing bras; lycra pants; sweatshirts — S, M, L
  • Children clothing of all sizes, including diapers (size 2 – 7)
  • Backpacks, shoelaces, and lap blankets
  • Note — Things not needed by Casa Alitas include office attire, infant or baby clothing, and shoes with heels.

For donated business attire, both Bridge Prison Ministry and IMPACT of Southern AZ have clients that are in need of clothing suitable for job interviews and for professional work.  If you are retired or have a family member/friend that no longer needs their business attire, please consider bringing the items to us for distribution.
